  • June drop didn't happen ...???

Just got off my sick bed for a wander round the fruit trees and am amazed to find that neither the apples or the pears (any of them) have dropped any fruit at all whilst I have been incapacitated. They are all groaning with what I consider to be too many fruits. Is this normal? Should I manually thin now, post haste? Never had this before.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

Sorry to hear you've been ill, Sarra.
If it is any consolation, my apples didn't have much of a June drop either. I am giving them a talking to about making it a July drop instead. Some of them are listening, but one isn't. Trouble is, as soon as I start to manually thin them out, the last one drops off to join the others! I'm going to wait and see.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Nor me - but last week some apples started dropping. I'm just going to leave them to it.

My June drop from the apple tree has just started - actually I find it usually happens in July. However I think I am going to have to manually thin the plums.

I was raking small apples from the back lawn this afternoon. We've had some strong winds over the last few days and this has thinned out the fruit considerably. I was going to leave the little apples for the birds thinking they might leave my soft fruit alone but they obviously prefer rasps and strawberries the little b*****s

My apple trees have not had a June drop this year, although they have started to shed quite a lot now. I presume this is the cold winter ?

I thought I was going to have to do it myself this year !!
