My mum has got raspberry bushes growing in her garden's vegetable patch. She hasn't done much with the patch bar harvesting the raspberries and it is overgrown. I have cleared most of it leaving the raspberries. Are there any tips for pruning back the raspberries?

Yes, every stem that has produced raspberries this year, cut it back to the ground.
I do it as I go as it tidies it up a bit - which means easier access to the later ripe ones as you go.

the raspberries will have spread by their roots,so you shoud have plenty to lift and resite,give to neighbours or swap with anybody nearby who has something you want,the choice is yours...enjoy them...Comment

I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
