  • Plums

I've got a plum tree that I only planted in Oct, its doing really well and has a few plums on it, some of these have clear icicles things hanging from it which I assume is from inside the plum. What would be causing this and do I need to do anything?

    Thanks

If it looks like clear droplets, or sap drops, don't do anything, I get it all the time. Just rub them off when you pick them and enjoy.

Plum sawfly can cause a sticky frass on the outside of the plum. Those infected usually ripen early and drop off. If you pick them with it on I would suggest you cut the plum in half and destone it to check for the maggot thingy inside.
