I put in this Gage last year and don't expect it to fruit until next year. It has put on really good growth but the leaves have turned dark brown in patches. Not the whole tree about 60% of the leaves.
It is in a row of 4 supercolumns which are about 4 feet apart (they are only supposed to be 2 foot across each). The others are a cherry, pear and apple. Only the apple has fruited this year but none of these other 3 have anything on their leaves.
Any ideas what may have caused it? All have been watered equally though I didnt put any potash down in march/april as the ground was still solid here.
If I need to prune it back do I do it now, later in the year or early spring?
Also I've read that even with a self fertile tree like this it may need a pollinator. Anyone know if this is true? Not expecting loads of fruit off these trees anyway.
