  • Melons

I have just taken my first melon off the plant.

I didnt really know when it should be ready.
Its a fastbreak F1 cantenloupe one.
It has stayed the same size for ages and i think it is ready.

My Oh wants me to wait til he gets home to open it up.

Does anyone know how big these type get.

Also the colour is sorta brown, not light green like the others....does this sound about right?

    Thanks
    VM

Well done, I am going to have a go next year. What was it like? I know fruit grown by yourself tends to be 10 times better than anything bought in the shops. We managed 3 peaches for the first time this year, they were fantastic.
