I'd heard that this was how they did it, but loved the photograph when I saw it.
Rather than doing things the usual American way (exporting the job to minimum wage Mexicans to hand pick them) the yanks grow their cranberry bushes in a laser-level flat, sand-covered field with dykes built around it. At harvest time they flood the field with water. The harvester doesn't collect the cranberries, but just loosens them from the bushes so they float to the surface and can then be herded into a corner where they are collected en-masse.
