Just to add to this, they arrived yesterday and are now safely planted.
(The apple has the biggest scion I have ever seen on a maiden tree!!)

Looking forward to medlar jelly in 5 years time, and all the cookers I could want in 3-4 years...gardening does teach you patience if nothing else
