Fig Tree problems

I have a bush and a standard, they are as hardy as old boots. I keep them outdoors all year round. Hard frost is not a problem.

My Dad has two Brown Turkey Figs. They are in large pots, but sunk into the ground. They lose their leaves every Autumn, but are in a sheltered position, so haven't started dropping them yet. I believe some Figs may not fruit for four to five years. Good luck.

They are tree buckets; the sort tree nurseries use. I guess they are about 95 litres. Think plastic dustbin, but a bit shorter in height, and wider at the top. If I can find a picture, I'll add one.
