early apple ?

Hi all , wondered if any one else has apples in blossom at the moment . I have two apple tree's , one eating and one cooker but i'm afraid I don't know the varieties . They have been in the ground for two years , before this they were in pots but they look quite young still . The cooking apple has blossom on the top branch and flower buds lower down . Should I remove this blossom and if not won't the frost kill it and most importantly will I still get fruit next year.

My Egremont Russet opens a few flowers every autumn. It has a few flowers open at the moment. I've had a few other apple trees do it occasionally, but not every year like the E.R. does.

I doubt that the tree opening a few flowers will result in all of next years fruit buds being wasted.
In any case, you can't do much to stop it flowering, so why worry?

As for whether to remove the blossom? It probably doesn't matter, but the blossom won't develop into a fruit, so it's up to you.

Ok , thanks for the advise . I think I will leave it on because I quite like having blossom at this time of the year

I have a few flowers on a Red Winsor, I leave mine on the tree and they fall off as soon as I get a frost.

Pot grown trees often produce blossom late summer/autumn
