I have a Holly bush growing in the garden, it is about 4ft tall and very healthy. I want to dig it up and put it in a pot to make more of a feature of it and perhaps prune it into a better shape. Can anyone give advice on what month would be the best to dig it up and do they do well in pots.

Early Spring is supposedly the best time, but they don't like being transplanted. I just did a quick 'Google' search, which I'd suggest, as there's loads of information out there from people who have done this. Superstition says it is bad luck to cut Holly down! Whilst I have planted many many Hollies, I haven't ever transplanted a mature one. Good luck. All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment
