Raspberry canes shooting/flowering

My autumn flowering raspberry canes are growing new leaf and a few are flowering even after the frosts (-10 here on a few nights).

"You should have cut them all back" I hear you all say.

I did! It's the canes I cut off that are shooting.

I didn't get round to shredding the canes because of the weather and just left them on the grass, most if not all are now putting out new leaf.

Q: Can I cut up the "old" canes and re-plant them for a new autumn crop?

You could try Graham, they will still have to form roots and may lose some of the new leaves in doing so.

One year I used raspberry prunings as supports for my peas. I got more raspberries than peas that year, cos they all took

the late spring has caused problems with the primocane raspberries,some strains didnt have enough time to grow and fruit,my polka fruited,but the other one (tulameen,i think) only started to fruit as the leaves began to fall. dont cut them down to the ground til feb,and if you want some early fruit,only cut them down to 2ft....
