  • Half Price Cherry Trees

My local garden centre is selling three varieties of Cherry tree at half price of £12.50. Varietes are

    Stella
    Sunburst
    Merton Glory

I am looking to plant in a pot that will be placed west facing next to the house.

Is it too late to purchase one of these trees and does this sound a reason deal

Not too late, price is OK, Adams apples full price is about the same but postage on top

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day

        Thanks folks.

Couple of questions. One was self Fertilizing (I think - not Pollinating!). I assume this means this tree does not need another to pollinate it?

What compost should I use in my tub. The tub I was going to use was General Multi Purpose.

I'd use something a bit more robust than a general purpose compost. How about using a John Innes No 3.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I mixed some garden soil (to hold onto the moisture better), grit, spent MPC, and grow bag into my pots.. Should I have used JI no 3?
