Grapes Question

Hi

has anyone any experience with grape vines?

Mine has showed no signs of life yet, despite everything else budding up..

is it too early? or have they "had it"?

any advice appreciated, was hoping for a small harvest this year!

Mine show no life yet either. I correct myself; the ones in pots (yet to be planted) are leafing. The old-old ones at the end of the garden have no buds, and I suspect it is warmer here than where you are. So I'd wait a while longer :-)

I'm between the two of you and some of my grapes have buds but no leaves but the old and very large one has nothing on it yet tho the embryonic buds are starting to show.

Up in Cumbria, I wouldn't worry at all, far too early to be worrying about grapes yet.

I'm down in Kent, and no signs of life yet. Myt vine has been in 4 years now, so well established, and not worried. I'm sure it's early yet.

I'm in Cardiff, my vines (3 different varieties) have been showing various stages of bud swelling for the past 3 weeks. The earliest one I expect to start showing first leaves within the week. The latest has probably got another 2 weeks to go before the leaves wil sprout. I do have mine right up against my house wall and in a sheltered garden, so may be a week or so ahead of vines in the open
