  • Greengage tree and mushrooms

I have a small greengage tree planted in a large contained. I have noticed that mushrooms have started to grow around the tree. How can I get rid of these without harming the tree? Should I just pull them out and see if they come back?

    Any advice much appreciated

Pulling them up would probably be the easiest thing, but they'll probably come back next year. Some fungi are very resistant to chemicals and difficult to kill.
The mushrooms may simply be feeding on the rotting compost, but next winter (or now - if the tree is not leafed-out) it would be wise to check that the trees roots are not rotting.
