Oh, really well done, they look great.
Mine are nothing like that but I'm so chuffed to have one melon. I have been thinking about putting one of the plants outside but I'm still a bit scared!A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)

Don't get a complex Perkin, I think I just got lucky with the wonderful April and May weather and I did plant them on 23rd March so they've had ages to get to this size.
It took a lot of patience taking them in and out of the blowaway for a couple of months but it has been worth itA garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)

good to hear that its not just me who struggles to grow melons!the first year I tried I cut off all the laterals thinking it was like a cucumber..still managed to get delicious, if not rather small fruit. the smell in the greenhouse was wonderful.
Trying 'out door wonder' also this year and growing some watermelons (sown from the pips of a tennisball sized one from last year) in a coldframe....don't really rate their chances!!!Gardening forever, housework whenever!

i grow sweetheart and ogen types each year in the g/house,sharing with the toms, onthe right one year,on the left the next year, then change all the soil, from 3 plants we get 10 -12 fruit, treated the same as toms ,but a little less water, grown up a double H shaped frame to support their weight, cut from the plant and served straight away, smell and taste is superb!!!!!

You've inspired me - I'm going to sneak one into the OH's very sunny greenhouse and pretend it is a "fun" new variety of passionflower.Gill
