    Yup- already!!!

    Got loads falling on the floor!.
    We've had loads of bees- so don't think that was the problem???

    Maybe lack of water?????

    I haven't had any fruitlets drop yet (but mine look like they need a couple more weeks of increasing size before they're big enough for the tree to decide which it wants to keep).

    I am, however, noticing some worrying symptoms suggestive of fireblight damage on the blossoms and fruitlets of my pears. I have pruned and burned the suspicious bits.
    Funnily enough, I wondered whether a nearby rowan tree had fireblight a year ago. I guess that's the reservoir.
    Fireblight just loves warm and humid spring conditions (like we're currently enjoying). In the UK, we don't always have enough warmth, but I can see how this year could be one of the worst for fireblight attacks.
