I noticed that a fellow allotmenteer has built a tall wooden structure over his strawberry bed and has fleeced the lot - apart from open ends.
I did wonder if it would deter the bees from pollinating the flowers. I think the polytunnel growers have to arrange for hives to be placed in the tunnel.
Mine are all out in the open and flowering merrily - and judging from all the bee activity I reckon I'll get a better crop than he will!
