Last year I acquired four dwarf fruit trees. The apple, pear and plum are thriving but the cherry has suddenly halted in its development. It came in to bud OK, and some 3 or 4 buds showed signs of leaves emerging, but suddenly it has stopped, and has shown no development at all for the last 2-3 weeks. It has been watered well during a dry April. What has gone wrong, and what can I do about it?

I don't know Chris - but I'd recommend not joining up any forums with your email address as your user name. Last night at 2am we had 850 non-registered users [AKA mainly potential spammers from overseas] on here - so it pays to keep things like that a little more private!

Will still reply though no doubt you will be changing to a different name. At a guess you got your trees from garden bargains. I also purchased the same package and have not managed to get the cherry to take, I have even had a replacement for the cherry and it has also done the same as yours. I am now going to give up and replace with an apple tree from a different company. I had no problem with getting a replacement tree from garden bargains.
