  • What is this?

    Hi all,

We took on our plot with a tree right in the middle of it. The tree is about 6-7 foot high and is currently starting to fruit. However I am unsure what it is and other plot holders have all said different things.

Anyone know what it could be. I have set up a poll with allotment holders thoughts so let me know what you think!

Just checked, same shape leave, mine aren't as waxy though.

Definitely not a fig.. Fig leaves are much a larger and more waxy:

Wrong shape leaf and definately not a fig. Leaf looks like a plum. Fruit a bit shiny though. What do greengages look like? Not apple or pear. Apricot? Peach?

My MIL's Victoria plums look exactly the same - just double checked.. I did think gage, or even damson originally but thought I'd check the fruit of this tree.

Its not a peach or apricot as the leaves look wrong and the fruit doesnt look right, its some sort of plum, the fruit and leaves look like a plum

Probably plum, or one of the other members of the plum family (gage, bullace etc).
                  .
