Thin Rhubarb Stalks

I have a Victoria rhubarb plant which has produced loads and loads of stalks this year. I have picked some but then it started producing flowers which i removed, now all the stalks that are growing are very thin and spindly. Is this because I need to pick the stalks more often?

Rhubarb should now be allowed to gain strength after your harvesting. Do not remove any more this year and feed with fertilizer.
