I have lots of plums now developing on my Victoria plum trees. The peach tree has no leaves at all. Last year there were leaves but no fruit. Previous years there was a lot of large fruit. Could it be the two very severe winters we have had in North East England? Any hope for it? It is in a well sheltered but sunny position

did you leave the peach tree out all winter?,i would put it in a g/house,shed or cold room,they dont mind the cold,its really the wet,the amount of it,that does the damage,it takes about 3 years for a tree to begin fruiting properly,if it was outside last year the blossoms were obviously not pollinated,in a g/house,as they show,you can use a kids soft paintbrush to transfer the pollen from one flower to another..good luck with it..i bought a peach tree from aldi in the spring..£3.99,it survived the 80mph winds last month,looks a bit ragged,but growing away well in a cut down dustbin..Originally posted by david2211 View Post -

yep i would definatly say its dead, mine is fruiting like mad now, already got fruits the size walnuts so it should definatly have leafs at the very least by mine. mine was also left outside all winter in the ground and servived fine.Comment

Always keep my peach inside for the winter just to control the watering. Also stops the leaf curl by keeping indoors till May. Second year of fruiting and have about 20 peaches.
