  • Plum goo

I have plum goo coming out of some of my young green plums. Is it too late to prevent further attack on my whole crop? What should I do?

What variety is your plum? and what exactly do you mean by goo?

Victoria plums naturally exude a gummy substance. It is not harmful.

Post a pic to let us see please but I imagine what you refer to as goo is a clear resin like substance which is quite normal as Valmarg has said.

Thanks all. Victoria plums but last tear we got lots of the plums attacked by something that appeared to lay eggs on the stone and semi rotted the fruits. Salvageable with work but not very appealing. Some moth or insect I expect.

I was hoping to prevent a similar problem this year but haven't greased the trunk or anything!
