Can I take cuttings from my Raspberry plants?

Hi all
Being forever trying to save money, I was wondering if its possible to take cuttings from my brillient raspberry plants? If so, when and which canes etc? Thanks for your help

Not cuttings exactly, but you can dig out some of the new canes that form around the base of the plants (with roots attached) and transplant them.

Raspberries are real thugs and would spread like weeds given the chance. They throw up shoots from the roots which develop into canes. Once these are strong enough, they can be severed from the main plant and planted up. Cut the new canes back to about 9" and they will reward you with more shoots.

I even grew some Tullameen rasps from seed, and they fruited in the second year!
