Blackcurrants are always one of the earliest fruits in my garden. Certainly never September? And your raspberries sound like autumn varieties - if you leave them unpruned you will get very early fruit on the old canes, and then later fruit on the new canes.

Heh, sounds like I may have broken my fruit bushes then. The blackcurrants haven't been happy since I've had them though - they seem to want more space than the pots I have given them.

Will ask the person I got them from again if she's sure the raspberries are Summer - might need to amend the pruning, thanks, have just been cutting back everything that fruited with them tbh.
