  • Lemon Trees

    Hi guys,

I'm interested in purchasing myself a Lemon Tree - I've done a little reading around the subject - and I'm intrigued. I'm going to certainly pursue the route of buying a producing tree, rather than starting from seed.

I was wondering if anyone could offer me advice on which variates are the most hardy and tastiest, along with recommended pot sizes (diameter and depth), and any other general advice you wish you were told before purchasing one.

I'm going to ring around my local gardening centre's before I look online as I've read some slightly unfavourable reviews, but if anyone is aware of a good Lemon Tree provider who distributes through the mail, please point me in the right direction

    All the best,
    Chris.

I have one bought from Lidl - no variety listed but it will be next year before they have them again. Mine are potted and come in for winter.

I got a Eureka Lemon Tree from Lidl late last year that had 4 fruit on it. Overwinter in the house and enjoyed the lemons at Christmas.
Produced alot of leaf that I cut back in May when I moved it outside. Now has lots more branches and leaves with about 40 flowers.
It is in a 20x20cm pot and the overall height is 36" with a 24" width.
I do feed it with the special citrus fertilizer.
Will move it indoors in October for the winter.
