  • Blackberry Recommendation

In the spring of last year I purchased a Blackberry Black Butte. It claimed to produce berries twice the size of normal but as my main reason for the purchase was that it had thorns I was not to bothered about that boast.

This year however it as produced exactly what it said on the tin, dozens of large sweet berries and I have the added protection of thorns to boot.

If you looking for a blackberry you should bear this one in mind.

I've got a thorny one on the perimeter fence (for the householders to moan about continually) and I've just planted some thornless ones within the plot (can't remember variety).
All for the production of blackberry whisky. Very reviving in the winter months

I'm thinking of getting some blackberry bushes, so I'll bear that in mind.
The mini-adverts which appear above and below threads, and are tailored by the software to the subject, include one at the moment for the Blackberry Curve. Don't think I've heard of that variety before...

Lol at that link, two sheds..
It can be drunk directly from the bottle but in polite company the preference is to serve it neat in small shot-glasses or as a long drink mixed with lemonade.

Well I'm not, but that recipe has turned me (it doesn't taste like whisky at all when it's done, more like alcoholic Ribena imo. It's really yummy

I usually drink single malt to expensive to mess with. I showed SWMBO the recipe and she insists we try it and to stress the point she bobbed out and bought a litre of blended this afternoon.

Again thanks for the idea Colin
