  • New Grape Plants - Growing Advice please

    Hi all
Any help on the following would be much appreciated-
I am about to plant some white and red wine grape plants outside (I do not have a greenhouse).
Have you any advice on what type of supprting structure (pergola?) will be neccessary when they get going?

    Kind Regards

I think you can train them on almost any kind of support.

Are you planting against a wall, or freestanding?

If they will be against a wall, you could set up some horizontal wires drilled into the wall, a bit like raspberry supports.

A pergola/archway would be OK I think, but you need easy access to all leaves/fruits etc for pruning, thinning and harvesting.
