Purchasing Soft Fruit Bushes

I am trying to find soft fruit bushes - different sorts and am looking in the usual places for bargains, Aldi, Lidl and the Pound shop but haven't seen anything yet except from a few dead ones in Aldi. Am I a bit early and any suggestions

Most soft fruit bushes are really easily propogated from cuttings and many folks start of some new bushes at pruning time. Ask around your local allotments and you may find a free source

If I remember rightly although now is the time to get your fruit trees in - Autumn - they were selling the fruit canes and young plants a couple of months ago, which is why you are probably finding dry dead ones left. I have found garden centres start selling off things like grape vines, currant bushes, raspberry canes etc round about now, but not Aldi, Lidl, � shops. They make come in again but I don't think so now until next year.
Seem to remember the fruit trees were sold around Spring.

I was going to say exactly as above ^ except that I picked up some bargain red and black currant bushes being sold off from B&Q in August....

Mar- Apr time for the likes of Aldi and Lidl ........I remember cos that's when I got the new lottie ....

I have just bought a load from J Parkers, delivery isn't until november, but the prices were great. 75 Strawbs for �25, and 30 rasp canes for �20.

Although i'm unsure how the strawbs will come?? And will they be ok planted out when they arrive??

If the weather is a bit iffie, pot your strawbs up and keep them inside. Parkers Wholesale have some super prices but buying 25kg's of onions sets is a bit much even for me

I am a bit bemused as I saw Monty Don planting out fruit canes the other day on gardeners world. That was why I was asking and I am sure I have bought them this time of year before!

25kg!!! If the weather is iffie I will make use of my bargain greenhouse heater(focus 90% off ) and new 14ft green house and give them a home in there.

I was just using the parkers normal site, just looked on the wholesale site and OMG the prices are even cheaper!! I'm assuming ex vat though but still v.good.
