I'm looking to get a new variety of blackberry to plant against the northwest side of my shed at the lottie. It needs to be thornless, and ideally not too vigorous. I've looked online, and liked the sound of Loch Ness or Waldo. Has anyone experience of these two? What do they taste like, what about their growth habit etc? I'm not too concerned about the harvest time.
The one I've got at the moment in the garden, is, I think, Oregon Thornless, which is much too vigourous. The new canes grow enormously long, and take over each year. The shed is only 8ft wide, so the blackberry needs to be happy with that sort of space.
