  • strange blueberry/sorrel bedsharing crisis

OK. Bear with me. So I have 2 2 yr old blueberry plants in big pots. 1 did reasonably well this year, but the other, which is locked in a codependent relationship with the buckler-leaf sorrel with which it pot-shares, was frankly pitiful.
Do I (yes it's a BroadRipple multiple choice again):
    1) rootle out the sorrel, shove it in the ground somewhere else (b/c obviously I have many spare acres), apologise to the blueberry and hope for the best?
2)ignore the sorrel, move both blube pots to somewhere a bit sunnier, hope for best?
3)um...no more ideas. buy several punnets of blueberries and individually glue them onto the branches?
    whaddya think?

If the blueberry is not doing well then yes you need to remove the sorrel.
I am not familiar with that sorrel, is it particularly rare or expensive? The blueberry (i would assume) is the more valuable potential crop?
Blueberries do prefer sun, and they dont really produce a noticable amount of fruit until year 4-5.

    Hope that helps...

I've found sorrel is fine with most soils whilst Blueberries like it acid so I wouldn't keep the two together. I'd bung the sorrel in a pot of it's own.

Out with the Buckler leaf Sorrel! Harvest some seeds or take some cuttings/divisions and stick it somewhere in the garden A quick Google says its difficult to eradicate but mine has disappeared! I've checked and its not cohabiting with my blueberries! I wonder where its hiding?
