  • New Blackcurrant Bushes

I have just bought 2 blackcurrants which I am going to plant tomorrow, They are Blackcurrant Ebony Cordon, with

a normal Bush you would prune down to about 2 inches from ground level, do I do the same with Cordons or do I leave the main stem on?

If you are going to grow as a cordon, then you do no pruning at this time.

As above - don't prune a cordon down to the ground.
If you prune a cordon down to the ground you will lose the trained cordon shape and the following season it will produce several stems from the ground and become a multi-stemmed bush.
