Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

I saw you mention on another thread about saving cranberry seeds and so when I eventually got around to making cranberry sauce yesterday, with the pack that my Stepdaugher left me on the 27th :O (right on the ball these days lol) there were understandably a few squishy ones.
Remembering your post, I threw a handful into a jar and for consistency's sake they are still lying on the worktop awaiting my attention.
I'll go half them and steep them in some water now, then get around to straining them next week no doubt
I love experimenting!

What do tomatillo's taste like? I saw them on the VSP and I was tempted but didn't have time to research what I would do with them.

I love tomatillos and they're almost impossible to buy anywhere fresh round here (which is why I started growing them in the first place). I use them pretty much totally for either Mexican food or in chutneys and even during the rubbish summer last year I had more than I need from 5 plants as they get huge and are so easy to grow. I don't like them raw and find that they have a slightly tart taste which is rather unlike anything else so that's probably no help - actually think I'll get some out the freezer for a nice bit of salsa this weekend - yum

For kiwiberry you need a male plant and a female plant, even the so called self fertile kiwifruit varieties perform better with a male for pollenation. Kiwiberry is hardier and fruits well outside, down here in hampshire my kiwi fruit vines outside rarely set fruit due to late frosts, the one's in the greenhouse are fine. And the only way to tell males from females is when they flower so you have to grow at least six plants from seed to guarantee one of each sex - label the plants, then take as many cuttings as you like."...Very dark, is the other side, very dark."
