Walnuts in pots

Mine are near apple trees - look at the pic in the link above - they are about 20ft away

Thats interesting then...! I was told by Keepers Nursery (whom I would say are experts) that apples and walnuts shouldnt be mixed because walnuts secrete something into the soil which kills/severely hinders apple trees.....!
The size of the tree is another consideration!
I will just have to do some bartering...!

Yes, I mentioned that in an earlier post, walnuts release a chemical from their roots that inhibit growth of other plants/trees nearby. I found out the hard way and planted a load of raspberries too close. But the apple trees have grown ok
