it's not a bargain if they are dead. I bought 2 gooseberries, a blueberry, a redcurrant, a blackcurrant and two raspberries from the £ store last year. Everything, with the possible exception of the redcurramt (and I may be living in hope here) is dead. £7 could have bought me a decent blueberry in a pot from a garden centre, or quite a few raspberry canes from a nursery. I won't be fooled again.

salome2001, i always make sure that they bushes have some buds/growth and roots on them before buying them, that way if the die i know its my fault. at the end of the day ive bought some great plants from wilkos and other shops, for example i bought a fig tree from wilkos last year and it has shot-up! - by the way im not saying that them dying is you fault!

Thats the only problem with soft fruit bushes from stores, they get neglected and dry out so quick. At least the fruit trees are well packaged in that black cling film stuff to keep the moisture in.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”
