I've seen these fruit trees (below) at a shop every spring. I've never bought them because they're very small, bare-rooted trees.
I already have bare rooted cherry, apple and pear trees in my garden, but I'd really like a plum tree too. The problem is that the only suitable places are either in sand, shade or have a deep layer of building rubble two foot under the soil.
Seeing as these trees look small I've wondered if they're on dwarf roots or just been cut down to size. I'm thinking about purchasing one, an opal plum and putting it in a medium sized pot instead.
I bought my current fruit trees from Poundstretcher and Aldi and they've been quite good so far. I haven't seen any at my local Pounstretcher yet and Aldi have sold out and nowhere else around here seems to have any bare-rooted trees now (I don't want to order online).
So has anyone had any experience of this brand? Should I get one or avoid them?
