  • Has anyone tried the Framberry/Strasberries?

    Hi,

I've seen a few posts mentioning the Framberry/Strasberries but I can't find anywhere that mentions people having tasted them?

I wanted to get a few Framberry (strawberry that tastes of rasberries) and Pineberry (white strawberry that tastes of pineapple) runners - but I found a review of the Pineberry and 4 people said it tasted disgusting and not to believe the marketing hype around them. However I cannot find anything about the Framberry so I was wondering if they will live up to their hype?

I don't particular mind if they aren't exactly like eating a raspberry (otherwise I'd have just got those instead) but as long as they are a nice, sweet taste I'll be happy.

    Thanks,
    Duncan

One of my mates bought some strasberries from a local greengrocer and they tasted quite nice ....another mate managed to get some to grow by laying thin slices on compost. They have chucked out loads of runners and now this year they have some fruit on . We wait with breath bated to see what occurs ...........

I'm looking to try framberries. Seen some 5 runners for £9.99 + P&P. Don't know if it too late to plat them now though.
If it is i'll def get them for next year.

21 days have past since I ordered from gardenbargins.com (through homes and property shop), I rung up to trade the order and it's been lost with the courier so I've asked for a refund. I'll have to see if I can find them elsewhere in person.

Think I'm missing the point of these. If you wanted the strawberry taste wouldn't you eat ... strawberries and vice versa or is there some advantage I hadn't thought of?

I've got much more space that suits strawberries than rasps. Hanging baskets, small pots etc. Whilst I landscape the whole of my garden I'm wanting to avoid anything that isn't small and in a pot (so it's easy to move around). I'll consider rasps next year if I have room.

Had the first framberry this evening and I've gotta say it was delicious. I'd say it was a mix of 60%taste of raspberry and 40% strawberry, definitely going to start growing lots of these.
