Just wondering if it is worth giving them shade next time it reaches 100 degrees in the greenhouse at mid day?

How did they respond to it this time?
My chillies are still on my kitchen windowsill but my sweet peppers are now in the greenhouse and seemed quite happy at 40°C (104° fahrenheit).Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

AHAHAHA! *ahem* Yes. They will love it. You might get some chillies that taste of something.
I grew up in New Mexico, where a substantial chunk of the local economy is based on chilli farming. And it's regularly over 100 F for several months in the summer. And it's at high elevation and very dry, so there is a lot of sun. Have a look at Las Cruces, NM, which is where all the NuMex chilli varieties (Twilight, Big Jim, Joe E. Parker, etc.) were bred.March is the new winter.

My chilli's all really ripen quickly when it is really hot.
They do need good watering as my scotch bonnet & Harbanero's are sucking leaves when I get in from work if I forget to water in the morning.
but my Chenzo & Twilights do much better!
But yes last year they loved the sun!Chilli Grower
