A friend of mine gave me 15 raspberry canes from her allotment in February, which I planted out very soon after.
Sadly only 6 have sprouted foliage so this morning I did the scratch test at the base of the canes to look for signs of life. Sadly no green and very much dead. I am gutted.
I can't really afford to go out and buy loads of canes to replace them at the moment so it will have to wait until next year. I am wondering whether I will be able to transplant any of the canes that come up this summer at the end of the year, or is that unrealistic?
Thanks!
