    new-and-stupid here.

I have two fruit trees. assumed they were apple anyway. they are starting to blossom. one has pinky white. the other more a strong cerise.

apple trees but two different types? or am i completely wrong?

Stupid answer they may be or may not be

Apples are normally pink & white, if it's a cerise colour I would hazard a guess at the Prunus family. Either Cherry, Peach/Nectarine or maybe an Ornamental variety of cherry

I assume you are new to the garden, and the trees were there already. As Nick says, apple blossom is usually pale pink at the edges and white in the middle. Also smallish single flowers. If the flowers are brightly coloured and double (frilly for want of a better word) then they are likely to be ornamental cherries. I guess you'll just have to wait and see - please let us know the results.

now i'm confused! have another huger tree thats all over pale/mid pink blossoms that i assumed was a cherry tree.

reason for thinking this is that the house is called the cherries!

i'm on dead slow dial up at the moment because bt cannot sort my broadband out. otherwise the pics would be on by now!

comparing leaves may be the sensible thing to do...will go and have a nose!

should have said - i'm new to this gardening and very very new to caring about a garden!
