  • Cherry tree - leaves eaten, fruit shrivelling

    Hi
My 2 year old stella cherry in a pot has had about one fifth of its leaves eaten. Looks like caterpillar damage, but havent been able to see any.

There are ants on it, seem to be vey interested in little nodules on leaf stems, but no aphids so far

The main problem is that the fruit is starting to shrivel. Have been watering every day...

Any ideas on how to save my fruit?
    Thanks

You may have several problems all at once:

    Leaf damage could be:
    Capsid bug
    Cherry slugworm
    Caterpillars
    Canker
    Shot-hole-disease

"Nodules" on stems are probably scale insects.

    You may also be over-watering

Fruit shrivelling may be lack of pollination.

You don't mention the rootstock, or how and where you're growing it (open ground, pot, against a wall etc).
