Raspberries dying

I seem to be having an issue with my raspberries (they are ones that fruit on last years wood, Summer fruiting??), the foliage has gone brown and crispy and they appear to be dying.

Also one of my current bushes seems to be heading the same way

The only reference I can find is root rot from all the rain we have had.

Any advice is much appreciated.

The two first don't look too bad, I would take off all the fruit.
There should be some shoots over the next weeks.
Did you plant them on wet, heavy soil?

How old are the plants?

This is there fist year and it was pretty dry when planted.

They are however in clay soil.

They really don't look very well. It is important to keep plants well watered when newly planted.

Some of mine have gone like this. Im also on clay. But it is wet I had a good feel and I used this gadget thing for water etc and it says wet!! Maybe mine too wet for them??

Its only about 10-20% of my plants that are affected and only in one patch.

Not sure about the current bush though, maybe thats just getting towards the end of its season?

You could leave them and see what happens, but the one in your third picture looks well and truly dead

I have lost around 10 of my 30 canes now, they all seem to be in one row so I imagine its down to root rot and this bloody rain, I will replace them but this time I will dig a trench and line with stones, then fill with compost to hopefully eradicate the root rot.
