The ones I bought were just called white strawberries and yes Waitrose did sell them cos OH delivered some. The fruit off mine did have a slight pineapple tasted to them .
Re Strasberries ...........one of our lottie ladies got some from a local greengrocers and one of our other lottie ladies managed to get the seeds to germinate....she had some fruit this year and they are very prolific with runners. Once again there is a slight difference to an everyday strawb ..

Hmmm, sends out lots of runners............I might get some of these to keep the hooligan kiwifruit company.

I got one in the b&q sale for £1.49, they were being sold as white strawberries and were just mixed in with the reds. Will have to wait to try one though!

My dozen (got at the start of the year) had about 4 fruits and send out 4/5 runners per plant! Hopefully they'll fruit better next year.

I got some white strawberries from B&Q as well, but they are not Pineberries, (The seeds are not red!) but I managed to get a runner from somewhere ;-)
I am hoping it will take so I will get some fruit next year.

It's a strawberry cultivar that delivers small whitish-pink strawberries when fully ripe. The plant is growing very prolific, throwing out much more runners than all the other strawberry varieties I have.

They taste OK, I'm not to found of the short fruiting branches, so fruit is not well displayed. But I will keep 24 plants because they are 'exotic'. I payed 0,5 EUR per plant, so yet another proof that plants are realllllly expensive in the UK.

Wyvales got them half price £2.50!
I got one with 3 runners on it so with the one I already got, thats 5 plants for next year.

Wooohooooo, I've just bought some Pineberries too!!
Any tips from those who grew them last year?
Do you plant them out or keep them in pots?
Should I leave these in their pots until after fruiting (hopefully) or split them now. There are 3-5 plants in each pot
The flowers look different to strawb flowers - punier - or have I forgotten

As far as I know, Stella, the pineberries are white with red pips

Does this help? White Strawberries | Strawberry Plants .org
Of course the big difference (so they say) is that they taste pineapple-ish.
The celery is still alive and looking good but I've been unable to root any more stalks yet. A base is shooting but not rooting. I'm going to plant it out anyway and see what happens.
