Persoanally, I can't wait to try Hero of the Nile which you can get from RV Roger http://www.rvroger.co.uk/index.php?l...ro_of_the_nile

(Along with Heart of Oak andn Admiral Beattie which I expect I will have to get to go along with it)

RV Roger had about 75 varieties in stock last year to plenty to choose from !

But what do gooseberries taste like? Is there anything they can be compared to?
And I ask about grapes because grapes are good and a grape-tasting gooseberry would be much easier to grow. There are strawberry tasting grapes and apples, it can't be impossible - just not happened yet I guess.

the fully ripened goosegogs can have a sweeet taste with an underlying sharp tang,i now net mine so that i get them ,not the birds,still using the juice from last years crop as a morning drink,with the rhubarb,blackcurrant,raspberry and goosegog juices we only buy juice for 6-8 weeks a year now and the fresh sharp taste of the goosegogs is unique.let them ripen properly and enjoy....
