I too looked at the amount of plants i needed and gulped at the cost!! Having grown strawberrys that don't produce runners and found them excellent i brought a load of seeds. I planted them in feb and left on a sunny window sil inside and now have seedlings about 2cm in height with 4-6 leaves. They are very small so I'm convinved that i won't get a crop this year but am hopeful for next. I planted several seeds in each pot and majority have germinated.

Thanks to all for the advice. Unfortunatly have had internet problems and been getting withdrawals from the forum, so only just picked up your comments. I think I'll have to stick to what I have this year and try and get some runners, for next years crop. But I'm also intriged about the seeds and will have a go and see how long it takes to cropping.
