So I bought a Kumquat , after trying a fruit , noticed the label which said do not eat decorative purposes only 
Found they had a faceache page and messaged then asking why .......this is the reason
To answer your question, the plants will bear fruit that can be eaten. However, due to the possibility of contamination in growing and transit, the fruit that is on the tree at the time of purchase cannot be recommended for consumption. We hope that helps.
The tree is laden with fruit ......do I leave it on to go rotten and drop off or do I take it all off and bin it?
