I don't think I noticed any pubs. I don't partake so its not the first thing I notice anyway. Have you seen the orange netting up at the side of the road near the monument at Cressage by any chance? Ive got no idea why its there but I am going to live in that part of Cressage, the old bit.

The Shrewsbury end, nice & peaceful there I believe, with the village on your right look over the fields you will see a big hill (the wrekin) I am on the other side of that, you are nicely situated there with countryside on your door step & towns within easy driving distance,if you like walking head over to the Long Mynd & if you are lucky you may well see the red kites there.

I can see the Wrekin from my window looking over the padock. Its a lovely view. Hopefully this afternoon when my big brother comes to show me how to work my new laptop Ill post those pictures I keep promising.
PS I love walking so I might cross on over to the Long Mynd. Wherever that is on the other side that is. Is it on the darkside?

The Long Mynd is a long flat topped hill that overshadows Church Stretton,to give you an idea how high & long, there is a gliding club launch & landing site up there marvelous views but it can get a bit wild & windy up there so pick your day, this .... Walk The Long Mynd .. is a nice walk, there are others near there at the Styper stones & of course there is the Wrekin walk up it for great views of the Shropshire Plains or around the base through woodland to see nature at it's best.

                    the Mynd .........

                          Excuse me. Hello.

                          Rhubarb?

I planted mine three years ago and each year it produces one leaf at the end of a three inch stem and then disappears.

Is it because its too hot, in full sun?
                          Planted straight into clay subsoil?
                          Waterlogged in the winter?
                          All of above?

It gets fed compost and ash.

                          Can it be saved?

                          (great pics...)

Yes sorry PP,I am sure rhubarb needs/likes partial shade & free draining soil,so I guess it is a bit of each in your list, you could transplant the crown into a large flower pot filled with well rotted compost.
