It looks like the bark is brown and smooth (pic 2) - my money is still in it being a currant bush.

I'd say currant too for pic 2 - but thorns really are the key to this.

I took another look and they haven't got thorns. They must be blackcurrants.

I'm with veggiechicken and Hazel at the Hill - blackcurrants more likely than redcurrants.

Yes - that's blackcurrants. If you run your hands over the buds you should be able to smell them

The buds look too chunky to me - but it could be jostaberries

I moved plot and I didn't expect to find two fruit trees and rhubarb. I did not plan to grow fruit, but now I have them I would like to keep them. I have been reading old posts, but since I am not sure what berry trees I have, I don't know what to do with them.

Btw, there is a single fence with parallel wires between them, does it mean I have autumn-fruiting varieties? I have read people use a single fence for summer-fruiting varieties and single fence with parallel wires for autumn-fruiting ones.

The best thing to do, for now, is nothing - until you know what they are!
I don't know whether there's any significance to having 2 parallel wires other than you may have something that need tying in. Have a look at the ground beneath the wires - is anything growing there?

Lots of weeds!! At the moment I am tidying up the place and I haven't met anyone so far to ask if they remember what the previous owner had, etc. I will let you to know what the misterious berry trees are (hopefully) soon. Thanks for your help!!
