Irish Peach and George Neal apples

Having read so much about the glory that is Irish Peach I have succumbed and ordered a 2 year bush on MM106. I expect you're throwing up your hands in horror FB knowing that it will be planted in wet Wales.
The Irish Peach comes with a "free" George Neal (same rootstock) but I can find very little about this variety. George Neal & Irish Peach Collection Blackmoor Nurseries

MM106 will probably be fine for you - a regular supply of rainfall is perfect; in the East we often don't have a regular plentiful rainfall in summer.
For MM106 it is saturated soil in its early years which is the biggest threat (or infected nursery stock carrying latent disease with it).

As George Neal is a fairly uncommon variety (therefore few strains of disease have adapted ways to attack it) I would expect it to show fairly good disease resistance. Being a cooker it will probably have quite good pest resistance too.

Two Apple trees, a peach and a couple of tayberries have just arrived BUT its 1.7C and the water in buckets has been frozen for days
Put them in the GH for now while I work out a cunning plan

those apples look decent plants, cant say ive ever heard of George Neal, and i think it would be okay in my area if suitable for yours,so please let us know how it settles down and performs...good luck..
