Woke up to wilting chilli seedlings. Will they survive?

Had them in the seed tray a bit to long, but today I looked at them to find them wilting horribly. The leaves were crispy on a couple of them.

Is it worth trying to grow these or will i be better off if I sow new ones? Do they look like they will survive?

They have been in water for about 3 hours now and not much progress on them.







The ones that are wilting a lot are thai and cayennes. The less so ones are habanero.

It can be a bit disheartening when that happens. I would plant more. My father in law has one huge pot with a gazillion seedlings looking really healthy. He will just thin them and transfer the keepers to other large pots when the time comes.

I take it you forgot to water them. Take them out of the water now and put them somewhere shady. Have another look tomorrow when they've had a chance to take up the water you've given them.

personally I'd re-pot the one on the left in the last picture, and ditch the rest.

I've had some looking just about that dead, and about half recovered. As RustyLady said, put them somewhere well out of the sun to give them the best chance. Any that are going to will recover by tomorrow and then you'll need to pot them on straight away.

time is the problem,if you were to replace them i would get some young plants from a g centre as they wont get enough time to ripen otherwise,i found jalepeno slow to mature..good luck whatever you do...

trouble is drying out your plants like that you damage the fine hairs on the roots and without these it will struggle to really recover

If you ever go to Bournemouth for the day let me know and you can have a couple of plants not the same varieties but just a thought
