  • Aronia, Goji, Tayberry, Loganberry from Morrisons's ? Will they grow ?

I picked up some fruit plants from Morrison's

    Will they produce fruit ?
WHat is the best way to grow them ?

I own a basic garden and I am new to this.

    Thanks.

Should I upload pictures of the actual plants ?

Depending on the condition you bought your plants in, they should all grow.
Tayberry and loganberry would be perfect by the fence so you can tie the branches up, or by the arch. Both are dead easy to grow, no special treatment required. Just tie this years growth as they will fruit on it next year. Once fruited you cut down fruited branches while re- tie to the fence new ones.

Goji is a shrub with long branches so will need support as well.

I got all excied about pound shop/ supermarket fruit bushes. I bought raspberries, blueberries, a kiwi, red and black currants. Everything died apart from the kiwi (which I potted) and the black currant. on reflection, both of these were from Wilko, none from the pound shop. I paid about £15 in total so not sure I'm up on the deal compared to buying decent stock from a nursery.

Although out of 12 raspberry canes from T&M only 8 have survived their first season....

Pound shop stuff has always done OK for me, but you do need to have a good look at them and make sure they're in good condition. Try to get them soon after they come into the shop, not when they've been hanging around neglected for weeks.

I also bought a blackberry plant from B+Q, not in a pot, just wrapped in plastic.

Upon opening it, it was just a stem with muddied roots

How will I grow this ?

As simple as planting it and watering it ? Or do I have to do something else ?

Yep, that's what would be termed bareroot. Just stick it in some soil, a pot or the ground and it'll grow.

A blackberry will be best in the ground and treat it as a tayberry mentioned above.

Surely there were instructions on the pack. However yes, as Paulie said, just plant it in the ground. It might be worth soaking the roots in a bucket of water overnight to make sure they are hydrated.
